Letter “H” Hotel Nautical Signal Flag

This vintage Letter H nautical signal flag comes from a salvaged maritime collection and shows heavy wear from real ship use. It measures approximately 72″ x 45″ and features the classic red and white vertical split design for the letter “H.” Overall, the flag is very dirty, with heavier staining visible toward the top.

In addition, the hoist edge uses a rope header with one rope grommet for hanging or hoisting. The rope shows wear from use, which is typical for working ship gear.

In the International Code of Signals, the Letter H flag means, “I have a pilot on board.” Therefore, ships used this flag to show that a harbor pilot was guiding the vessel through local waters.
