This Letter “Q” Nautical Signal Flag was removed from a vessel being cut up for scrap. This flag is exactly like it was when it was found, it has not been washed.

When flown alone, this flag indicates a ship’s cleanliness and request for pratique. When flown alongside another flag, it signals the presence of disease on board the ship.
