Description

This Vintage Binnacle Small was made in 1968 by Tokura Kokaikeiki Seisakusho in Osaka, Japan. It’s a compact, all-in-one navigational instrument that combines a magnetic compass and clinometer, making it a solid option for small vessels or yachts without space for a full-sized binnacle.

The binnacle is built from brass and shows natural signs of age. You’ll see surface scratches, some yellowing, and a weathered patina — all consistent with real-world maritime use. Despite that, the compass still functions properly and gimbals freely.

On each side, large iron spheres — red and green — help correct for deviation error caused by the ship’s metal structure. These are key parts of the binnacle’s original design.

Features:

  • Made in 1968 by Tokura Kokaikeiki Seisakusho, Osaka, Japan
  • Brass construction with natural patina and surface wear
  • Includes magnetic compass and clinometer in one housing

Whether you’re a nautical collector or want a vintage piece for your office, this Japanese binnacle adds character and history to any space.
