This is Antique Brass Binnacle – manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio by the Frank Morrison & Son Company. This company dates back to at least 1887, possibly even further back. I am having a terribly hard time finding information on this company on the internet. They appear to have been a sales and repair company. It looks like they would take damaged compasses and nautical equipment and piece them together into working pieces of maritime equipment. For example, this piece is actually a Kelvin White compass that was manufactured between 1950 and 1961. At some point, it came into the possession of the Frank Morrison & Son Company and they transformed it into a working piece of history.
There is a small indention in the front of the binnacle. It is shown in two of the photos.
