This is a vintage small red brass marine wall light. The globes are in great shape with only a few minor scratches. These lights are usually used as ceiling lights for different passageways throughout the ship.
This passageway ceiling light is solid red brass, it has a higher copper content giving it a reddish hue. The red brass housing shows signs of ware and tare but could be easily polished up. It weighs about 3 pounds. It measures 7 inches tall from the tip of the cage to the top of the wall mount, and will extend out from the wall by 4 1/2 inches.
It has two mount lugs which will require a mounting space about 4 inches wide. The original conduit opening in front has had a brass plug installed. This light weighs about 3 pounds.
The clear glass globes are in great shape, with only a small amount of surface ware.
These lights are re-wired, including a ground wire. The wiring and bulb sockets are UL-listed and rated to work under 250 volts. The wiring exits the light via the back of the wall mount. The new bulb fixtures take a medium base bulb of 75 watts or less. Access the bulb fixture by spinning off the threaded brass cage and removing the glass globe.
