This vintage Davis Instruments sextant was made by the well-known Davis Instruments Company, founded in 1963 and based in San Leandro, California. The company became a global leader in producing weather monitoring tools and marine equipment.
The sextant measures the altitude of celestial bodies to help determine position on land or at sea. It comes stored in a hard plastic white case with a handle for easy carrying.
