Description

You are looking at the 1957 Montello Park Photo. In this photo you will see two Great Lakes Passenger Steamers.

The first one you see is the Alabama. It was built by the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. It was launched on December 18, 1909 and went out of service in 1946. The Steamer sat at Montello Park for many years. It was eventually converted into a non-powered barge in 1961 until it was scrapped in 2006.

The second ship was the South American Steamer. This steamer was built by the Great Lakes Engineering Works in Ecorse, Michigan. It was built in 1913-1914 for the Chicago, Duluth And Georgian Bay Transit Company. The vessel was launched on February 21, 1914.

This would be a great nautical piece to add to your wall and to your collection!

This is being sold as-is.
