Vintage Perko Binnacle With Frodsham And Keen Liverpool Compass. The Perkins Marine Lamp Corp. was started by Frederick and his son Louis started in 1916 in Brooklyn, NY. In 1922 the “PERKO” name was trademarked. Five Generations later and the “PERKO” company is still privately owned, family operating corporation. Frodsham and Keen started making and selling and nautical and scientific instruments in 1856 in Liverpool, England.

The compass is housed in a steel binnacle. On the compass itself you will find the name FRODSHAM & KEEN- LIVERPOOL. Also, just above the compass you will see a lightbulb which was used during the evening hours or foggy, dreary days at sea. The binnacle has its trademark logo on the lower front of the item. The logo says Perkins Marine Lamp & Howe Corp., Brooklyn, NY U.S.A. and in the center of the logo it has PERKO in big lettering and Reg. Trademark. This item was placed on a round piece of wood.
