This is is an electronic compass with a pelorus mounted on it. The pelorus is used to determine the bearing of objects to allow observations of relative bearings from the vessel to navigational aids, such as lighthouses, buoys or land structures or other vessels. The compass used to be powered and would give true directions when hooked up to a GPS or to a gyro. You normally don’t find compasses with a pelorus fixed to it.
Diameter (including mounting pegs): 12.75″
Height (pelorus extended): 7.5″
