This is a Vintage Authentic Wind Gauge Anemometer that was salvaged off of a once working vessel. An anemometer is a device to measure wind speed and direction. The two gauges measure wind direction and wind speed. This would be used with an anemoscope. It shows the direction of the wind or foretells the change of the direction or weather of the wind.
This instrument was made by the Koshin Denki Kogyo Co., as shown on a plaque on one side of the box. Also on the plague has the type #, date 1977, and the number of the product.
On the front, you will find where the wind direction and speed are read. Also, in between them is a list of what the velocity in knots means and the term for that reading.
This vintage nautical piece would be a great item to add to your nautical collection.
