Vintage Kilbourn-Sauer Green Fresnel Glass Oil Lantern

This Vintage Kilbourn-Sauer Green Fresnel Glass Oil Lantern likely dates from the 1930s or 1940s. Kilbourn-Sauer Co. manufactured this lantern in Fairfield, Connecticut, and their name remains stamped on the top of the fixture.

The lantern retains its original oil-burning components, which add to its authenticity and collector appeal. However, we have not tested the lantern for operation. Because of that, we recommend displaying it as a decorative piece or servicing it before use.

The green Fresnel glass gives this lantern its classic maritime appearance. In addition, the combination of aged metal and original hardware reflects years of service. Please note that several cracks are present in the glass. Even so, the lantern still displays well and makes an interesting addition to a nautical collection.

Furthermore, this lantern features a galvanized steel body with brass components. The mix of materials creates a distinctive look often found in working marine lighting from the early twentieth century.
