This is a 1972 Red Vintage Ship Navigation Light. The light has a red lens that spans 360 degrees, allowing the light to go in all directions. It has the original mounting base with three mount legs. This is a very versatile light. It can be ceiling mounted, hung from a chain, or even post mounted.
It was made in Japan by Nippon Sento in 1972. Nippon Sento Co. Ltd. is a marine supplier that has been providing lighting equipment for ships and airports since 1936.

This Ship Navigation Light has been completely rewired with modern UL-Listed wiring, including the ground wire. The new porcelain bulb socket takes a medium base bulb of 100 watts or less. The new UL-Listed wiring and bulb socket are rated to work with any electrical voltage under 250 volts. To access the bulb holder you loosen the four wing nuts.
