This small Eh brass red globe single conduit caged passageway ceiling light. It is a nautical navigation port side light with a red globe. These lights are used to indicate the port (left) side of the boat when navigating the boat at night time. EH is prominently marked on the top of both sides of the brass housing, while IP56 is marked on one side of the conduit hole. These lights are usually used as ceiling lights for different passageways throughout the ship.
Navigation lights alert other vessels of your positioning. The red indicates port side of a boat. The green light indicates starboard side. The white is seen from all angles typically mounted on the stern.
This vintage brass light measures 7 1/2 inches tall by 4 1/2 inches wide. The globe is in great shape with only a few minor scratches. It has two mount lugs which will require a mounting space about 4 inches wide. The original single conduit opening has a brass plug installed. This light weighs around 3 pounds.
To access the bulb holder, just screw off the cage and lift out the glass globe.
This small brass navigation ceiling light has been rewired with UL-Listed parts rated for up to 250 volts. The globe and cage unscrew as one piece to access the bulb area. A medium base bulb of 60 watts or less will work great in this light.
