This is a small antique ribbed brass ceiling light with a ribbed glass globe which has been wired for indoor use as a desk lamp. This light would have been used in a passageway on a ship before it was salvaged .
This cast brass nautical ceiling light is 7 inches long. The diameter of the light is 4.75 inches. The base of the light has two mounting holes about 4 inches apart. This light weighs about 3.3 pounds.
To access the globe, unscrew the screws holding the cage in place. The light has been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts that are rated for any voltage under 250 volts. The bulb holder takes a medium base bulb of 75 watts or less, or you can use the newer compact fluorescent bulbs or LED lights with an Edison base.
Big Ship Salvage scours the world for nautical antique lights, décor and other items related to the Nautical Life. Brass, copper, stainless steel and sometimes aluminum materials are used to make-up the vintage lights that we find. We soda-blast the old paint off, remove the old wiring and polish before they arrive in our warehouse. Then, we rewire with UL listed bulb sockets and wiring harnesses and get ready for purchase. They are now ready to warm your home, business or restaurant with that nautical feeling we all desire.
