Description

This Vintage Russian Submarine Clock, made in 1986, is a great display piece for collectors of maritime artifacts. The internal mechanism does not function, as the key locks up when turned. However, with modifications, it may be possible to repair it.

Inside the lid, you’ll find a manufacturing stamp from 1986. Additionally, there is a slight crack on the clock, which we have shown in the product gallery.

Originally Used on Ships and Submarines

The Soviet Navy used these clocks primarily on ships, boats, and submarines. Designed for durability, they feature a sturdy metal body with a classic nautical aesthetic.

Winding Instructions (For Reference)

Although the mechanism currently does not work, here’s how these clocks were typically wound:

  • Insert the key into the side hole and turn to unlock.
  • Lift the hinged cover to access the winding point.
  • Insert the key and wind the mechanism.
  • Once properly wound, these clocks were designed to run for 8 days.

A Great Piece for Collectors and Nautical Enthusiasts

If you collect Russian clocks or nautical antiques, this item makes a great addition to your display. Even though it is non-functional, it still holds historical significance and adds character to any maritime-themed space.
