Here we have an absolutely gorgeous vintage brass ship’s bell – measuring 15 inches in diameter. We discovered that this type of bell is called a manual trip bell.
One of the great advantages of manual trip bells when used with pull rod fire alarms is that they still work in the event of an electrical outage.

While the striking lever is made out of steel, the rest of the bell is made out of brass with a wooden base. The wooden base has been added to the vintage brass bell since it has been taken off of it’s original home.
This brass bell weighs 36.5 pounds. The diameter of the bell is 15 inches. The wood mounting plate measures 23.75 inches tall while the width measures 19.5 inches.
