Description

This salvaged brass ship bell came off the Ro-Ro cargo ship MIDNIGHT SUN. The vessel was built in 2003 and sails under the United States flag. As a result, this bell has over 22 years of real maritime service behind it.

Weighing approximately 22 pounds, this bell is made from solid brass. It features a 12-inch mouth and retains its original clapper. When rung, it produces a strong, clear tone that fits its size and weight.

You will notice heavy patina across the surface because we chose not to polish it. In addition, the bell shows dents, scratches, and surface wear from years at sea. The mouth edge is not perfectly smooth, which further reflects its working life aboard a cargo ship. The name MIDNIGHT SUN is cast directly into the brass, tying it clearly to its vessel of origin.

Because this is a salvaged brass ship bell, it works well in several settings. You can mount it at a front entry, install it at a marina, or use it inside a restaurant or office. It also makes a strong display piece in a maritime collection. Some buyers prefer to keep the patina for authenticity. However, you can polish it if you want a brighter brass finish.

  • Original salvaged brass ship bell from MIDNIGHT SUN (built 2003)
