Description
This salvaged brass bell came from the cargo vessel Sanko Hibiscus, built between 1985 and 1986 for Sanko Steamship Co. The ship later operated as Neo Hibiscus. The bell is engraved with the vessel’s name and the year 1985, clearly marking its service history.
Cast in solid brass, the bell has a 12″ mouth opening and weighs 24 lbs. It is a full-size working ship’s bell with real weight and presence. The original clapper is still in place and shows surface rust. The brass body has developed natural patina, along with light scratches and wear from marine use.
We have not polished or refinished the surface. What you see is honest service wear from years at sea.
Because the clapper extends below the base, the bell will not sit flat. It is best displayed hanging.
