Product Description
This Henschel Corporation Ship’s Sound Powered Bridge Telephone And Bell is being sold on consignment for a private collector from Cleveland. Every item has been well-preserved due to the owner’s deep love of nautical history. You’ll find some very interesting pieces in this collection – items that might not be found anywhere on the Internet!
This vintage phone is displayed on a decorative wooden board for easy hanging. The Type-333 Sound Powered Handset, equipped with a generator hand crank, was made by the United States Instrument Corp, while the box itself was manufactured by the Henschel Corporation in Amesbury, Mass. You will also see an Edwards 17 Bell positioned above the phone. The handset is black with brass surrounding the ear and mouthpieces, and the holder for the handset is also solid brass.
You can find numbers on the dial of the phone box, each of which corresponds to the numbers above the dial. To contact the captain, for instance, simply turn the dial to the number 2 and use the side crank.
This Sound Powered Bridge Telephone And Bell would look great in any nautically themed space. It would be a great addition to your collection and makes for an excellent conversation starter for years to come!
