Description
This vintage aneroid barometer dates to February 2003 and was produced by OTA Keiki Seisakusho Co. in Tokyo. Aneroid barometers help track atmospheric pressure using a flexible metal diaphragm. Unlike mercury models, they offer a safer, liquid-free way to monitor weather changes. Mariners and coastal stations have long used these tools to detect pressure shifts at sea.
This unit reads in both hPa and mmHg, printed clearly on a white dial. Its housing comes in a light seafoam green finish, with visible scratches from use. The front glass is missing, so the face is fully exposed. Despite that, it remains an appealing display piece for collectors and enthusiasts.
Near the base, a metal strip marked “ADJUST” slides to the side, revealing a screw for calibration. However, the barometer’s current working condition is unknown. Because of that, we’re offering it as-is, suited for decorative use or as part of a nautical collection.
You can hang it in a workshop, coastal-themed room, or as part of a wall display featuring vintage ship instruments.
Features:
- Dated February 2003, made in Tokyo
- Seafoam green case with visible wear, no front glass
- Metric and imperial pressure readings (hPa and mmHg)
- Adjustable calibration screw under “ADJUST” panel
- Sold as-is — working condition unknown
