Description

This vintage brass pressure gauge comes from the American Steam Gauge & Valve Manufacturing Company in Boston, Massachusetts. It uses the classic Bourdon tube mechanism, invented in 1849, which became standard for measuring pressure in steam, air, and water systems.

The gauge includes a solid brass case and a 3½-inch dial face that reads up to 100 units (likely PSI). The dial is easy to read, and the original glass remains clear and intact. The brass housing shows age and wear, including a visible crack near the top rim, as shown in the photos. However, the wear adds to its industrial character.

Many collectors value pieces like this for their craftsmanship and historical significance. While this gauge looks great on display, it hasn’t been tested and should be used for decorative purposes only.
