Description
Schaeffer & Budenberg made this Brass Test Gauge. The company, founded in 1850 in Magdeburg, Germany, became well-known for producing high-quality pressure gauges for the steam industry. In 1876, they expanded to the United States and established American Schaeffer & Budenberg in Brooklyn, New York.
This test gauge measures pressure within a system, whether from fluids, gases, water, or steam. Users rely on it to monitor leaks or pressure changes. It also verifies the accuracy of other gauges by comparing their readings to a standard pressure.
The gauge features three mounting holes, allowing you to display it easily on a wall or within a collection. It remains in excellent physical condition, though we have not tested its functionality.
A private collector in Cleveland consigned this piece. The collector, deeply passionate about nautical history, carefully preserved every item in their collection. With its industrial heritage and steam industry connections, this gauge makes an excellent addition to any collection. It appeals to maritime and industrial history enthusiasts alike.
