Antique Brass Pressure Gauge, General Fire Extinguisher Company

This listing is for a single brass air pressure gauge for the Providence, Rhode Island plant, General Fire Extinguisher Company in 1919. Frederick Grinell is the pioneer of modern fire safety, having patented over 40 improvements to the automatic fire sprinkler system in his career. In 1892, he formed his own company, which merged a few other companies together, naming it the General Fire Extinguisher Company in Providence, Rhode Island. The company underwent a name change in 1919, going by Grinell Co. After many sales and mergers, the Grinell name still lives on today in the worlds largest fire safety company, SimplexGrinell.

While this doesn’t have a date on it, we know that it was prior to 1919, when the company changed names. This also helps to verify that the Ashcroft logo age ranges that we have are correct.
