Kelvin Hughes Marine Barometer – Compensated, Made in England

This Kelvin Hughes Marine Barometer offers a classic nautical design with a cream face and clear black markings. Kelvin Hughes sits at the center of the dial, and numbers run along the outer ring. At the bottom, you will find “Marine Barometer Compensated,” followed by mmHg and millibar readings, and the “Made in England” mark.

The barometer shows a worn chrome finish from years at sea. The back plate is painted black, and it shows typical age marks. A visible dent sits along the chrome rim and adds to its salvaged look. We tested the barometer using the zip-lock bag method, and the needle did not move. Because of this, the barometer works best as a decorative display piece.

How to Perform the Ziplock Bag Test:

Place the barometer inside a large, clear plastic bag filled with air. Then, gently squeeze the bag. If the barometer is working properly, the pointer will rise as the pressure increases.
