Description

Here we have a double spring deck steam gauge, manufactured by the Ashcroft Manufacturing Company. The collector of this gauge was interested in Great Lakes items, and based on the Detroit, Michigan sticker, I can say with a fair amount of confidence that this was on a great lake vessel.

The Ashcroft company is one of the oldest and most well known pressure gauge companies to date. With business origins starting in 1870s, there is a long range of verified and documented history on the trade marks used on pressure gauges. Based on that information, we can reliably say that this small pressure gauge is from 1940-1960.

Glass face diameter = 3.9″

This gauge was tested by the H.O. Trerice Co. in Detroit, Michigan on March 25, 1960.
