Vintage Brass Nautical Bulkhead Light

This brass nautical bulkhead light features solid brass construction and a red glass globe. It also retains its original marine hardware, and we salvaged it directly from ship service. After that, we rewired the fixture for residential use. It measures 7 inches from top to bottom and weighs approximately 3 lbs.

Over time, the brass developed natural weathering and patina, so the surface shows honest wear from marine use. In addition, the red glass globe has light scratches, small dings, and a small hole at the top. Because of this, these marks clearly reflect its working history and age.

You will also find Glück and IP56 engraved on the base. Glück identifies the original brass socket maker, while IP56 means the fixture resists dust and strong water spray. As a result, ships and industrial settings commonly used this style of light.

The fixture includes one original conduit entry, and we have already plugged it. We also rewired the light and prepared it for installation, so it’s ready to mount.

In addition, we offer a separate adapter plate that covers a standard junction box and creates a clean finished look. However, the plate’s mounting holes do not align directly with standard junction box holes. Therefore, the installer must position and secure the light during mounting.

Wiring:

This Ceiling Light has been re-wired with all new UL-listed parts, including a medium base socket and ground wire, rated for any voltage under 250 volts. We recommend using a standard base LED bulb / LED Edison bulb, which allows you to choose the bulb’s brightness to match your lighting area.
