Rewired Brass Industrial Table Lamp – Vintage Kokosha Flameproof Light

This brass industrial table lamp began its life as a ceiling-mounted flameproof light, built by Kokosha in the 1980s for use on supertankers and industrial ships. Designed for rugged environments, it offered both durability and safety. Now, it brings that same industrial character to your home or office.

We salvaged the original fixture and fully rewired it with all new UL-listed parts, including a grounded medium base socket. As a result, it’s ready to plug in and use right away. With an 80″ cloth-wrapped cord and inline switch, this lamp is perfect for desks, shelves, or side tables.

The solid brass body, thick glass, and protective brass cage give it a tough, functional look. Each lamp has its own patina from time spent at sea, adding character that makes every piece unique. For the best effect, we recommend pairing it with an LED Edison bulb.

To access the socket, use a 3/8″ 6-point hex socket to loosen the screws and lift off the cage and globe.
