This Antique German Brass Ceiling Light is weathered from years on the sea. There is a sticker on the inside of the glass globe in German that can be scraped away or left alone for authenticity. If mounted directly to the ceiling, this light will extend downwards 7.75″. On the bottom of the light, there are two mounting brackets to help fix this to the ceiling. The width of the mounting brackets is 5.5″. The diameter of the brass cage is 4.75″. The weight is 5.5 pounds.
To access the bulb, the cage and globe thread off as one piece. This light has been completely rewired with UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse Electric. The bulb socket takes a medium base bulb of 100 watts or less. The wiring is rated for any voltage under 250 volts. We have also installed a copper ground wire.
Big Ship Salvage scours the world for nautical antique lights, décor and other items related to the Nautical Life. Brass, copper, stainless steel and sometimes aluminum materials are used to make-up the vintage lights that we find. We soda-blast the old paint off, remove the old wiring and polish before they arrive in our warehouse. Then, we rewire with UL listed bulb sockets and wiring harnesses and get ready for purchase. They are now ready to warm your home, business or restaurant with that nautical feeling we all desire.
