This creation shows our ability to recover, salvage, and rebuild vintage nautical lights. This brass nautical pendant light with enamel porcelain shade started out with a brass nautical ceiling light. The brass ceiling light was made by wiska. The green and white enamel porcelain cover on this pendant light originally had some sort of cast aluminum housing and hung directly from a ship as a marine cargo light. The bracket of this pendant light that is used to attach the chain was custom cast for us from broken nautical lights that were no longer useable.
This custom built cast brass pendant light is 12 1/2 inches tall (not counting the chain). The Wiska nautical ceiling light with brass cage weighs just over 7 pounds, the light measures 8 3/4 inches tall and, 4 3/4 inches in diameter. The green and white porcelain cover is 18 1/4 inches wide. It comes with 3 feet of chain, but more can be ordered if needed. To access the bulb, the cage and globe thread off as one piece. The green and white porcelain cover is held in place by the cage threaded back in place. The porcelain cover will have some chipping or basic wear and tear from being authentically salvaged like the photos show.
This light has been completely rewired with UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse Electric. The bulb socket takes a medium base bulb of 100 watts or less. The wiring is rated for any voltage under 250 volts. We have also installed a copper ground wire.
Total weight including three feet of chain is just about 13 pounds. The weight is mostly the cast brass light that we started with.
Several pieces in stock.
