Brass Nautical Ceiling Light – Salvaged Ship Fixture

This brass nautical ceiling light started its life as a working marine fixture built for shipboard use. It features a solid brass housing and a thick glass globe that protects the bulb in demanding environments. The fixture drops 6.75 inches from the ceiling and weighs approximately 3 pounds. As a result, it works well in spaces where you need a compact but solid light.

The body includes two original conduit entry points, and we sealed both with matching brass plugs. The glass shows some discoloration that does not polish out. In addition, a small pinhole appears at the very tip of the dome. The brass has developed moderate patina from age and use; however, it is not heavily worn. Together, these details show its service history without affecting function.

Because of its size, this brass nautical ceiling light fits well in hallways, entryways, mudrooms, bathrooms, and bunk rooms. It also works in workshops, lake houses, coastal homes, and marine-inspired interiors. If you have lower ceilings, the modest 6.75-inch drop keeps the fixture practical and out of the way.

We also offer a separate 6″ adapter plate to help with installation. The plate covers a standard junction box and creates a clean finished look. However, the mounting holes do not line up directly with standard junction box holes. For that reason, the installer will need to align and secure the fixture properly during mounting.

Wiring:

This light has been rewired with all new UL-listed parts, including a medium base socket and ground wire, rated for up to 250 volts. The wiring exits through the base for easy installation.  We recommend using a standard base LED or Edison-style bulb, allowing you to choose the brightness for your space.
