Aluminum Caged Passage Light – Mini Red Marine Ceiling Fixture

This caged passage light came off a working vessel and features a solid aluminum body with original red paint. Because crews used it in tight shipboard spaces, it was built to handle impact and daily use.

The fixture includes a clear glass globe and a fixed protective cage. However, the cage does not fully close, so use this light indoors only. We wired the fixture for modern use, and it takes an E11 candelabra bulb.

At the top, you’ll find two black rubber conduit entries from its original setup. In addition, the mounting base shows the name “AJMERA” stamped twice, which likely points to the original maker or supplier.

Since this is a salvaged piece, it shows wear from use and remains in as-is condition.

Where to Use It:

You can mount this light in hallways or entryways where a low-profile fixture works well. Because of its compact size, it also fits well in utility rooms, closets, or as accent lighting.

It works best as a secondary light source rather than primary task lighting. For example, use it in a garage for general visibility, but not as the main light over a workbench.

Wiring:

This Miniature Vintage Brass Navigation Ceiling Light will be re-wired with all new UR-listed parts, including a Candelabra base socket and ground wire, that are rated for any voltage under 125 volts / 75 watts. We recommend using an E11 (mini candelabra) base LED bulb / LED Edison bulb, which allows you to choose the bulb’s brightness to match your lighting area.
