These Vintage Russian Alarm Ship Bells would have been installed all over the ship to notify the crew about various dangerous situations that could arise while out on the sea. 7 short alarm rings followed by 1 long alarm ring signals a general alarm while continuous ringing signals a fire alarm. There are several other alarm sounds that signify different emergencies, these are standard practices across the international maritime industry.
This is a vintage alarm bell with a small faceplate containing Russian characters that we cannot decipher. The housing is made of aluminum, while the bell and handle are made of iron.
The working condition is not known. We have had customers report to us that they’ve restored this alarm to ring once again. Overall good condition with some surface wear from actual use on a vessel.
