This is a Vintage A. Ward Hendrickson Red Fresnel Oil Lantern. It was made at the Brooklyn and Company, Inc. New York. This was purchased through a private collector in the Illinois area.
This lantern is made out of copper and copper-plated material. It has a red fresnel glass which is in pretty good shape with just a few scratches on it and on the glass 1669 R is etched on it. The glass is a 360′ view. The oil would be put in the base of the lantern which you would have to twist off the bottom part of the base. As you can tell from the photos it is very weathered, especially the top part of the lantern. On the top part of this lantern, you will find a plaque that reads-Marine Lighting, A. Ward Hendrickson, Bklyn & Co., Inc. NY
This Vintage A. War Hendrickson Red Fresnel Oil Lantern would be a great piece to hang outside or in any nautical room or atmosphere.
We do not know the working condition of this lantern. It is being sold as-is condition.
