Product Description

This Salvaged Aluminum Floodlight with Stand is a beautiful nautical light and we only have a few of these in stock. A floodlight like this would have been used on the masthead of the ship, or perhaps on a pedestal, to communicate to other vessels via signals. These lights were used during the day and at night. Signal lamps were invented in the late 19th century by Arthur Cyril Webb Aldis. They are often referred to as Aldis lamps or Morse lamps.

This light could be hung directly from the ceiling – as shown in the second photo.

There are four dogs that secure the front lid onto the light fixture. There is a handle on top of the light that allows you to change the direction of the light – provided the two handles on the outside are loosened to allow this.

Dimensions:

Height: 23″
Length: 14″
Front Diameter: 14″
Width: 19″
Base Diameter:  7.5″
Weight: 30.6 lbs.

This light has been rewired with a UL-Listed bulb fixture and wiring so that you can easily plug it into the wall outlet. The bulb base is rated up to 250 volts and 660 watts. This light takes a medium base bulb of 100 watts or less.

You will be shipped the Salvaged Aluminum Floodlight with Stand shown in the photos.
