This is an authentic Perko Double Lens Bronze Navigation Light – White Masthead Light, salvaged from a once working vessel. Navigation lights are an iconic item in the nautical community. Perko, formed in 1907, has been creating quality nautical products for over 100 years. Despite not being too old, this set was definitely used for some time on the sea.
Red and green sidelights are required when away from the dock between sunset and sunrise and during periods of restricted visibility. This particular navigation light is a White masthead light. They would be located at the bow of a boat with 360-degree visibility.
This double-stacked light is made of solid bronze and plastic. It has a plastic cap for rebulbing and cleaning. The clear Fresnel lenses are in good condition. They are made of plastic and only have slight imperfections, including fogging of the lenses and there is an interior crack (shown in the photos).
There are several markings on this piece. The top housing has a “Bow” with an arrow, a brass plate marked “191577”, the cap “Perko” and “Miami FLA. U.S.A”, and the base “1164-68” and “Perko”
Fresnel lens Height: 6.75″
Weight: 15.9 lbs.
