Description
This vintage brass post light comes from a working ship, where crews used it for navigation and deck lighting. It features a solid brass build that handles outdoor conditions and holds up over time.
The light includes a clear Fresnel glass lens that spreads light in a full 360-degree pattern. Because of this design, crews could see the light from all directions. As a result, it worked well for signaling and general deck use. Brass guard rods surround the lens and help protect it from impact.
The brass body shows heavy patina across the surface, including the wing nuts and hardware. Over time, marine exposure caused this wear, which now reflects its service history. In addition, someone has plugged the conduit entry.
At the top, three screws hold the brass lid in place. When you remove them, you can lift the lid and access the bulb. This design keeps the fixture closed during use but still allows easy maintenance.
The light stands 9.75 inches tall, so it fits well on a post, in landscaping, or as part of a nautical setup. You can use it as a working outdoor light or keep it as a salvage piece with visible wear.
