Vintage Brass Post Light with Clear Fresnel Lens

This salvaged brass post light came from a working ship and still shows signs of real use. It stands about 12 inches tall and mounts with a four-hole brass base. Because of its compact size, it’s easy to install on posts, decks, or walls.

The body is solid brass and shifts to a reddish tone near the top. A clear Fresnel lens wraps around the center and provides 360-degree light output. The lens has some chipping and surface wear, which is typical for salvaged marine glass. Above the lens, a thin brass ring supports the lid. However, one section of the ring is slightly bent — a small cosmetic flaw that adds to its rugged character. To change the bulb, just loosen the three wingnuts and lift the top.

We’ve also rewired this vintage brass post light with a standard medium base socket. It’s ready for indoor or outdoor use. Because of its durable build and simple design, it works well on docks, porches, or in industrial spaces.

Wiring options include all new UL-listed parts, including a medium base socket and ground wire, rated for any voltage under 250 volts. We recommend using a standard base LED bulb / LED Edison bulb, which allows you to choose the bulb’s brightness to match your lighting area.
