This salvaged brass nautical post light was removed from a working vessel being cut up for scrap. This light measures 11 inches tall and the lens measures 8 inches in diameter. The hinge at the top of the light sticks out from the side by 2 inches. The base flange measures 5 inches in diameter. This light weighs 17 pounds. The lens is in good shape with very minor edge chipping. We have plugged the old conduit opening with a copper cap.
A post light can add beautifully to your home decor as well as being a great addition to your dock or boat house.
This light has been rewired with UL-listed wiring and bulb socket. This light takes a normal screw in house bulb of 100 watts or less. To access the bulb holder, simply turn the rectangular piece that holds the top of the light in place clockwise. The wiring exits the bottom of the light from the brass post.
Big Ship Salvage scours the world for nautical antique lights, décor and other items related to the Nautical Life. Brass, copper, stainless steel and sometimes aluminum materials are used to make-up the vintage lights that we find. We soda-blast the old paint off, remove the old wiring and polish before they arrive in our warehouse. Then, we rewire with UL listed bulb sockets and wiring harnesses and get ready for purchase. They are now ready to warm your home, business or restaurant with that nautical feeling we all desire.
