Red Fresnel 12.5 Inch Tranberg Brass Post Mounted Light

This is a Red Fresnel 12.5 Inch Tranberg Brass Post Mounted Light. It is a nautical navigation port side light with a red Fresnel lens. These lights are usually mounted on the port (left) side of the boat when navigating a vessel at night time.

Navigation lights alert other vessels of your positioning. The red indicates the port side of a boat. The green light indicates the starboard side. The white is seen from all angles typically mounted on the stern.

Tranberg traces back to 1901 when Olof Tranber established the company in Stavanger, Norway. Tranberg introduced the world’s first electrical navigation light, setting a standard for marine equipment. Over 90 years, Tranberg crafted reliable maritime solutions until its acquisition by German company R.Stahl in 2006.

This Tranberg post light is made of solid brass. The red Fresnel lens is in excellent condition with minor chips or scratches due to being salvaged off a decommissioned vessel.

Wiring:

This Clear Tranberg Fresnel Lens Post Mounted Light has been re-wired with all new UL-listed parts, including a ceramic medium base socket and ground wire, rated for any voltage under 250 volts. We recommend using a standard base LED bulb / LED Edison bulb, which allows you to choose the bulb’s brightness to match your lighting area.

To access the socket, open the hinge and lift the lid.
