This is a Post Mounted Red Fresnel lens Brass Light. It is a nautical navigation port side light with a red Fresnel lens. These lights are usually mounted on the port (left) side of the boat when navigating the boat at night time.
Navigation lights alert other vessels of your positioning. The red indicates the port side of a boat. The green light indicates the starboard side. The white is seen from all angles typically mounted on the stern.
In 1901 Olof Tranber founds Tranberg in Stavanger, Norway. By 1901 they had crested the world’s first electrical navigation light. They produced marine equipment for over 90 years until 2006 when they were acquired by German company R.Stahl.
This Tranberg post light is made of solid brass. The red Fresnel lens is in excellent condition with minor chips or scratches due to being salvaged off a decommissioned vessel. We have installed a copper cap in the old conduit hole on the Tranberg junction box.
There is a small bolt in the top that at some point was installed to fill a small hole.

The light has been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts, including a ground wire, that is rated for any voltage under 250 volts. The bulb holder takes a standard medium base LED or Edison bulb
