This salvaged brass post light may have been used as a ceiling light when it was in use on a ship. The plate attached to the light is upside down, which leads us to believe that it was used as a ceiling light. However, this light is 20.3 pounds, and we believe that it would be better re purposed as a post light. There is a small part of the cage that is broken, but it is hardly noticeable and does not affect the structure of the cage. This is shown in picture 3.
This brass post light is 12.5 inches tall. The width of this product is 5.75 inches and the length of this product is 4.75 inches.
We have rewired this light with UL-listed wiring and bulb sockets. Rated for up to 250 volts.
Big Ship Salvage scours the world for nautical antique lights, décor and other items related to the Nautical Life. Brass, copper, stainless steel and sometimes aluminum materials are used to make-up the vintage lights that we find. We soda-blast the old paint off, remove the old wiring and polish before they arrive in our warehouse. Then, we rewire with UL listed bulb sockets and wiring harnesses and get ready for purchase. They are now ready to warm your home, business or restaurant with that nautical feeling we all desire.
