The heavy construction of this heavy brass nautical post light allows this piece to weigh in at 20 pounds. From top to bottom, the light measures 12 1/4 inches tall. The base measures 4 3/4 inches square with the widest section of the light housing measuring about 6 1/4 inches wide. The undamaged glass globe is about 5 inches tall.
To access the bulb, the top section of the light spins free off the base. The top section that spins off as one piece consists of the cage, the globe, and the large cast bronze section just below the globe.
We have installed a new bulb socket that accepts standard house bulbs. Additionally, we have installed new wiring including a ground wire that exits the light from the center of the base.
Besides being used as a ceiling or post light, this light could have a cord added to it and be used as a very impressive desk or counter top light.

Big Ship Salvage scours the world for nautical antique lights, décor and other items related to the Nautical Life. Brass, copper, stainless steel and sometimes aluminum materials are used to make-up the vintage lights that we find. We soda-blast the old paint off, remove the old wiring and polish before they arrive in our warehouse. Then, we rewire with UL listed bulb sockets and wiring harnesses and get ready for purchase. They are now ready to warm your home, business or restaurant with that nautical feeling we all desire.
