This is a 12 Inch Tranberg Post Light. It is a nautical navigation port sidelight with a clear Fresnel lens. These lights are usually mounted at the bow or stern of the boat.
Navigation lights alert other vessels of your positioning. The red indicates the port side of a boat. The green light indicates the starboard side. The white is seen from all angles typically mounted on the stern.
In 1901 Olof Tranber founds Tranberg in Stavanger, Norway. By 1901 they had crested the world’s first electrical navigation light. They produced marine equipment for over 90 years until 2006 when they were acquired by German company R.Stahl.
This particular light has a good amount of chipping and speckles on the glass. We have installed a copper cap in the old conduit hole on the Tranberg junction box.
The Tranberg plate is missing from the top.
Height: just over 12″ tall
Base Diameter: 5″

The light has been re-wired with all new UL-Listed parts, including a ground wire, that is rated for any voltage under 250 volts. The bulb holder takes a standard medium base LED or Edison bulb
