Brass Nautical Deck Light with Clear Fresnel Lens

This brass nautical deck light helped ships move safely at night. A clear Fresnel glass lens spreads the light in a full 360-degree pattern, so crews could see the signal from any direction. Because of this wide visibility, shipbuilders often installed lights like this on working vessels where dependable navigation lighting was necessary.

The fixture has a solid brass body with a wide mounting base and vertical guard rods that protect the glass lens. At the top of the light, a brass lid sits in place and three screws secure it to the fixture. When you need to change the bulb, simply remove the three screws and lift the lid off. As a result, the design keeps the light sealed while still allowing easy access to the bulb.

The Fresnel lens uses thick clear glass to spread the light evenly. At the bottom of the lens, a chunk of glass chipped off at some point during its service life. However, this damage does not affect how the light works.

This brass nautical deck light stands just under 10 inches tall, so it fits easily in many spaces. Over time, the brass developed a natural patina along with light surface markings from years of marine use. These signs of wear are common with salvaged ship lighting and show the working history of the fixture.

This light has been rewired with all new UL-listed parts, including a medium base socket making it compatible with any voltage under 250 volts. We recommend using a standard base LED bulb or Edison-style LED bulb, which allows you to choose the bulb’s brightness to match your lighting area.
