I think it is hard to tell by looking at the photos of this vintage weather tight cast brass nautical piling light, but it weighs just over 17 pounds. While it may not have the typical post designed base that other lights have in this category, it would be a perfect selection if you need a light to sit on top of a pier piling or a stone structure at the end of your driveway.

This weather tight cast brass nautical piling light measures 11 inches tall and at the widest point it measures about 8 inches wide. The heavy duty cast brass base has two mounting legs with holes that are about 7 1/2 inches on center of each other. This weather tight cast brass nautical piling light can be mounted with the glass pointing up or down. In other words, it can also be considered as a very large over head light.

Because of the construction design, this light can withstand direct water spray, and the bulb compartment will remain water tight. To access the bulb, the cage and globe spin off as one piece. This design requires no tools to change the bulb!

Originally the wiring entered one of the two side conduit holes. We have enclosed the original conduit holes with copper caps, and a new hole has been drilled in the center of the base that will allow for a very clean installation. This vintage weather tight cast brass nautical piling light was completely rewired with a new UL-Listed bulb holder that was made by Westinghouse Electric. The bulb holder takes a normal screw in house bulb of 100 watts or less. The all new wiring is suited for any voltage under 250 volts, so your normal house voltage is no an issue.

This light has a weathered look and the cage will have the normal bends and possible repairs. If you are looking for a true vintage nautical light that looks like it really came from the deck of a working vessel, this is your light!
