This creation shows our ability to recover, salvage, and rebuild vintage nautical lights. The shade has been modified from its original state to fit over the salvaged brass ceiling light.
This salvaged polished brass nautical ceiling light was fitted with a a 11 inch wide green and white enamel porcelain shade. The center hole on the top housing was threaded and a brass down rod was added. The down rod has a 6 inch ceiling mount plate with four mounting holes. This light will extend down from the ceiling about 12 inches. Total weight is about 5 1/2 pounds.
To access the bulb, the cage threads off globe. The green and white enamel porcelain cover is held in place by three screws on top of the cage. The porcelain cover will have some chipping or basic wear and tear from being authentically salvaged like the photos show.
This light has been completely rewired with UL-Listed parts made by Westinghouse Electric. The bulb socket takes a medium base bulb of 100 watts or less. The wiring is rated for any voltage under 250 volts. We have also installed a copper ground wire.
