Product Description
It’s not often that we get a matching set of lights, but today we have a Vintage Copper Portside and Starboard Seahorse Lantern Set. The company was founded in 1890 in Birmingham and they started manufacturing ship lights in 1900. The company changed names a couple of times, but they are especially known thanks to their trademark, Seahorse.
Made from copper, these lanterns were used on ships and have since been repurposed into charming residential lights. The starboard side emits a green glow, while the portside has a soft red glow, as shown in the photos. You will find on the top of the lid a plaque with the word “STARBOARD”, and a plaque just above the glass that reads: SEAHORSE G B, Trade Mark, and the number 40071. On the other lantern, you’ll find “Port”, and a plaque just above the glass that reads: “SEAHORSE G B, Trade Mark”, and the number 40070.
This Vintage Copper Portside and Starboard Seahorse Lantern Set would be great in any type of nautical setting!
