You are looking at the Tug Champion And Tow Picture. This was a powerful tug that what named Champion. It was built in Detroit in 1868 by Campbell & Owen. It was used for servicing clusters of sailing vessels that were waiting in irons at the mouth of the Detroit River.
On September 15, 1903 The Champion accidently burned at Put-In-Bay and it was a total loss.
