With this piece, we combined two of our favorite nautical pieces into one incredible piece of nautical décor! This entire piece measures 42 inches tall by 30 inches wide, and weighs nearly 60 pounds! Working condition is unknown.
The two gauges measure wind direction and wind speed. The windmill anemometer and its propeller both spin freely. This wind speed indicator was manufactured by Koshin Denki Kogyo Co. Ltd. Due to many years at sea, this windmill anemometer has some minor surface wear and chipped paint on the wind indicator box.

Click on the photo for additional views of this large antique brass ship propeller.
A large antique brass ship propeller is always a great find, especially if it is in brass. This piece is solid brass and measures 24 inches in total diameter. And it measures 12 inches from the center of the hub to the edges of the blades. The hub is 2 3/4 inches in diameter, and 4 1/8 inches from front to back. This is a vintage brass propeller, pulled from a real ship. Both sides are photographed. This authentic brass ship propeller weighs just under 37 pounds. Marked “1942”.
Simply speaking, a maritime propeller is made up of sections of helicoidal surfaces which act together ‘screwing’ through the water (hence the common reference to marine propellers as “screws”). Three, four, or five blades are most common in marine propellers, although designs which are intended to operate at reduced noise will have more blades. The blades are attached to a boss, or hub, which should be as small as the needs of strength allow – with fixed-pitch propellers the blades and boss are usually a single casting.
