Often we see watertight doors and hatches at the shipyards and walk past them because of the overall size and weight. I always thought the coolest part of these original watertight doors and hatches was the cast iron wheel, so I started pulling them when we spotted ones that could be removed without too much effort.
This antique ship’s watertight hatch wheel measures 10 inches wide and weighs about 7 pounds. This item is being sold in as found condition. You can expect loose paint, dirt, and some grease here and there. This is a great display piece that can be displayed unrestored, restored or even painted!
You will be shipped the antique ship’s watertight hatch wheel shown in the attached photos!

A 4 blade antique brass ship propeller is always a great find, especially if it is in brass. This piece is solid brass and measures 24 inches in total diameter. And it measures 12 inches from the center of the hub to the edges of the blades. The hub is 3 inches in diameter, and 4 inches from front to back. This is a vintage brass propeller, pulled from a real ship. Both sides are photographed. This authentic brass ship propeller weighs just under 37 pounds.
Simply speaking, a maritime propeller is made up of sections of helicoidal surfaces which act together ‘screwing’ through the water (hence the common reference to marine propellers as “screws”). Three, four, or five blades are most common in marine propellers, although designs which are intended to operate at reduced noise will have more blades. The blades are attached to a boss, or hub, which should be as small as the needs of strength allow – with fixed-pitch propellers the blades and boss are usually a single casting.

Here is a great find from the salvage yard! An original vintage aluminum and brass rotary phone. Items like this are very difficult to find! It measures 11 1/4 inches long not including the cord, about 10 1/2 inches wide, and should extend from the wall by 4 1/2 inches. Weighs just under 10 pounds. Working condition is unknown.
This vintage ship’s phone has some visible wear and aging from years at sea. Great nautical decor item!
